1739 Antique Engraving of Queen Anne of Cleves, Wife of King Henry VIII, Tudor Queen

A fine 1739 antique engraving of Queen Anne of Cleves (1515–1557), the fourth wife of King Henry VIII of England. Shown in a richly decorated oval cartouche, she wears traditional Tudor dress and elaborate jewellery, framed by floral ornament. Below, a cherub reclines beside a crown, symbolising her royal status.

Inscribed “In the Collection of Thomas Barrett Esq.” along the margin, this engraving was published in London in 1739. A beautifully detailed example of 18th-century printmaking and an evocative portrait of a Tudor queen.
