An antique 1739 engraved portrait of Friedrich Hermann von Schönberg, 1st Duke of Schomberg (1615–1690), the famed Huguenot soldier and commander of William III’s army. Depicted in armor with curled wig, framed within a laurel oval, with a cavalry battle scene below referencing his military exploits and death at the Battle of the Boyne (1690).
