Antique 1826 Engraving of Otho Caesar – Roman Emperor Encyclopaedia Londinensis

Original 1826 hand-colored stipple engraving of Otho Caesar (32–69 AD), briefly Roman Emperor during the tumultuous “Year of the Four Emperors.” Otho is portrayed in full ceremonial Roman armor, rendered with exceptional detail and color in this classical-style bust engraving.
This print was engraved by T. Page for the Encyclopaedia Londinensis, after a design by T. Trotter, and is a fine historical tribute to a lesser-known yet fascinating figure of Roman imperial history.
