An exceptional early 18th-century linen damask commemorative carving cloth, woven with elaborate scenes of the War of the Spanish Succession (1701–1714), celebrating the victories of the Duke of Marlborough and the Allied armies.
The design features cavalry, artillery, city views, coats of arms, and inscriptions such as “Vive les Alliés”, alongside named fortresses and towns including Douai, Lille, Béthune, Oudenarde, Tournai, Menin, Aire, Brussels, Ghent, and Malplaquet.
