Antique Engraving – Edward Sackville, 4th Earl of Dorset – Lord Chamberlain 1741

An impressive 18th-century engraved portrait of Edward Sackville, 4th Earl of Dorset (1591–1652), an influential nobleman of the Stuart court. Sackville was a supporter of King Charles I and served as Lord Chamberlain to Queen Henrietta Maria.
The engraving depicts Sackville in elaborate Stuart dress within an ornate oval cartouche. Around him are symbols of his high office, including the Keys of the Chamberlain, coronet, heraldic arms, and decorative emblems.
