An original 17th-century engraving portrait of Adolph, Count of Meurs, Nieuenaar, and Alpen, a prominent nobleman and Governor of Gelderland and Utrecht during the Dutch Revolt. The portrait shows Adolph in elaborate Renaissance dress with a lace ruff, within an oval frame inscribed in Latin. Below is a Dutch caption and the engraver’s signature, H. Jacobsen. A rare and finely detailed historical engraving suitable for collectors of Dutch history and noble portraiture.
