Antique Hand-Coloured Engraving – Emperor Tiberius Caesar – c.1816

A finely hand-coloured antique engraving of Emperor Tiberius Caesar, the second Roman Emperor who ruled from AD 14 to 37. Tiberius is depicted in profile, wearing a laurel wreath and richly detailed ceremonial armor, evoking the strength and formality of classical Roman portraiture.
This striking portrait was engraved by Heath and published for the Encyclopaedia Londinensis around 1816. The quality of the engraving and the vivid hand-colouring reflect the neoclassical style of early 19th-century British printmaking.
